We accelerates CHERI adoption through collaboration, interoperability, and ecosystem growth.
The Alliance brings together the people and organisations developing, deploying, evaluating, and promoting CHERI technology. Our goal is to make adoption easier, build a stronger ecosystem, and help more products benefit from CHERI’s approach to memory protection and compartmentalisation.
How the Alliance delivers its mission
Align
The Alliance helps the ecosystem move in the same direction. It brings implementers and users together around compatible architectures, software, tools, standards, and evidence, while recognising that different platforms and ISA will have different requirements.
Enable
The Alliance works to make CHERI easier to adopt. This includes development tools, software ports, reference implementations, test infrastructure, training, practical guidance, and resources for evaluating products.
Assure
The Alliance helps organisations communicate their use of CHERI clearly and credibly. The CHERI Enabled programme provides one certification route, while working groups develop guidance relevant to safety, security, standards, procurement, and regulatory requirements.
Explain
The Alliance provides clear information about what CHERI does, where it can help, and how it complements memory-safe languages and other security technologies. It also contributes expertise to standards, procurement, and secure-by-design policy discussions.
Connect
The Alliance provides a neutral forum where industry, academia, government, open-source communities, standards bodies, and users can share experience, align priorities, and collaborate on common challenges.
Principles
Alliance activities should be technically grounded, transparent about limitations, and beneficial to the wider ecosystem. Collaboration follows the Alliance’s governance, competition-law, intellectual-property, conduct, and trademark policies.
What remains with adopters
The Alliance can provide coordination, resources, guidance, education, and assurance frameworks. Organisations remain responsible for their own product design, engineering decisions, security claims, compliance obligations, and deployments.
